Cheressel’s Story

As I approach the one-year anniversary of my Revi implant surgery, I can truly say that this treatment has been life-changing.

Before Revi, incontinence affected so much more than just my bladder. It affected how confidently I moved through the world. I carried feelings of shame and embarrassment about something I often felt I was too young to be experiencing. There was always that underlying fear of urgency or having an accident, constantly thinking about where the nearest restroom was, and planning parts of my day around my bladder.

Over time, those interruptions to my daily life became too much to bear. Something as simple as going to work, walking on a trail, traveling, exercising, or enjoying time with friends could come with an added layer of worry. I didn’t want the fear of incontinence to continue dictating how I lived my life.

Today, I feel like I have my freedom back.

I can walk into the world with confidence instead of anxiousness. I can travel, be active, and live my everyday life without incontinence constantly being at the forefront of my mind. That freedom has had such a meaningful impact on my confidence and overall quality of life.

I am incredibly thankful that I made the decision to move forward with the Revi implant. Nearly a year later, I am grateful to BlueWind Medical for developing a treatment that has made such a difference in my life.

I want to encourage other women experiencing what I have with bladder or urge incontinence to know that they are not alone. There is no reason to suffer silently or allow shame to dictate your life like it did mine. This treatment is life changing and I couldn’t recommend it faster. I won’t shut up about the Revi implant to my friends.

I now walk into the world with confidence and freedom.

Bruce’s Story

I have been battling male urinary incontinence for about five years, I think. From an emotional standpoint, however, it has felt more like fifty.

One of the lowest days of my life was having to tell my wife that I needed to start wearing Depends. There were many times when I had a minute or less to get to a restroom after feeling the first urge to go. I’m happy to say I’m no longer doing the tight-legged sprint.

My urinary issues were twofold. First, I wasn’t emptying my bladder completely, causing backups that could lead to urinary tract infections. Second, urine would simply decide to come out whenever it wanted to. And I can tell you from experience, Depends don’t always work. Imagine the warm feeling of urine running down your leg while you’re on the golf course or giving a presentation at work. It’s humiliating.

When I first heard about the Revi implant from BlueWind Medical, I was very skeptical of the claims being made. I honestly wondered if anything could make that much of a difference.

It has literally changed my life.

I feel like a different person. I’m back in control, and I no longer feel like that ashamed little boy who just wet his pants in public. Instead, I feel like I’ve gotten my confidence and my life back.

Dee’s Story

Before Revi, I avoided going out with friends to keep from drinking anything unless I was at home because I was afraid I would have an accident. When I was out with family or friends, I constantly needed to find a bathroom.  Many times, I didn’t make it, which was humiliating. It was embarrassing and discouraging, and I felt like my frequent bathroom trips and accidents were controlling my life.

It became truly disheartening. I was only 58 years old when this condition really took over my life and I knew this shouldn’t be happening. I had been dealing with these challenges for years, and they were affecting my confidence, my social life, and my overall wellbeing. Now with Revi, I can go out with friends and family carefree. It has given me my life back.

Tim’s Story

For four years, I had to wear diapers or pull-ups, but now I don’t! I used to think that being incontinent in your old age was just “normal,” so I accepted the loss of dignity I felt. Without control over my bladder, I lost my self-respect and was afraid to go places, especially with my wife. But since getting my Revi implanted, I can do whatever I want without fear. My wife and I just came back from a cruise, and she didn’t have to pack an extra bag for me with diapers and incontinence supplies, let alone extra clothes in case of accidents. I can go for an afternoon drive without sitting on a plastic seat protector, and my wife doesn’t have to change our bedding in the middle of the night because I had an accident. Revi is a miracle. The procedure was so simple, and it worked right away for me. Now, I have control instead of being fearful or embarrassed because I had an urgent need to urinate and couldn’t control it.

Stephanie’s Story

I went from changing adult diapers and clothing three times a day to being completely dry and not having any worries. I can leave the house, stay overnight with friends, and not worry about accidents or sneaking diapers to an outside trash can. I have gone from daily treatments to only two or three treatments per week. I did not know that this type of therapy was out there and I am so grateful to my physician who recommended Revi.

Lea’s Story

I started having problems with bladder leakage a few years ago, probably ten years ago. My symptoms included inability to control my bladder at certain times resulting in urine leakage. I went to a urogynecologist who suggested physical therapy and Kegel exercises. These did not prove effective. 

Over the years, the number of incidents increased, so recently I asked my primary care physician and she gave me a referral to a urologist who gave me a choice of treatments: Botox, oral medications, or stimulation by acupuncture needle of the nerve that connects to the bladder. I personally prefer natural treatments if they are appropriate, so I opted for acupuncture.

I received treatment using an acupuncture needle stimulated by an electronic unit once a week for twelve weeks and then another few treatments every three weeks. The treatment was very successful. I went from having one or usually more “incidents” a day to one or less a week. At that time, I determined that I would like to ask for the implant permanently using the Revi device.

I had the implant surgically placed (outpatient) and used it every day for 6 months. My physician recommended cutting back, so I switched to 3 times a week for a few months, then to twice a week, and so far it has been working!

I include it in my bedtime regimen on those days. I hook up the device, and get comfortable reading or watching TV, so it is effortless.

Needless to say, I am very happy with my Revi! I don’t need to use pads anymore and it has greatly improved the quality of my life.
