In this video, Dr. Sutherland highlights the significant benefits of Revi, a new implant for bladder control, compared to traditional Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation, or PTNS, for patients managing their urinary incontinence. Revi is convenient, allowing patients to perform the therapy at home rather than making weekly visits to a physician’s office. PTNS can be very labor intensive. Patients must go to a 30-minute weekly treatment appointment at their physician’s office for 12 weeks and then must attend subsequent monthly visits to maintain symptom improvement.

In contrast, with the ability to have the therapy more often and for longer sessions, Revi patients can benefit from more efficacy and improvement in their symptoms. The increased frequency of treatments with Revi have been shown to yield better results for patients, making it a more effective and patient-friendly option for managing urinary symptoms.
